1945: liittoutuneiden viimeinen etappi Saksan valloittamiseksi on käynnistynyt ja ainoastaan yksi strategisesti tärkeä silta Reinin joella on natsien hallussa. Kummallakin puolella on paljon pelissä; saksalaisilla 50.000 sillan väärälle puolelle loukkuun jääneen sotilaan henki ja liittoutuneille sillan valloitus tarkoittaisi sodan huomattavasti nopeutuvaa loppumista. Vain yksi selviää voittajana sydämenpysäyttävän jännittävästä taistelusta, jonka palkkiona on Viimeinen silta yli Reinin. (SF Film Fin.)

englanti I admit that I watched the movie only after returning from Davle, where I saw the bridge at the supposed Remagen with my own eyes. It is undoubtedly filmed well, interestingly and has a lot of action for its time. Of course, American patriotism cannot be absent but what bothered me more is the fact that while filming the American producers were more concerned with finishing the movie than the fact that our country was, at the time, occupied. englanti A very decent war spectacle about conquest-non-conquest – destruction-non-destruction of a key bridge over the Rhine. In the context of American works, the spectacle is rather intimate and economical in terms of set design and extras, yet also impressive, interesting and dramatic. The main advantages of the The Bridge at Remagen are its decent depiction of the characters, a few twists and a solid narrative pace, which will suffice even without excessively monumental and pathetic crutches. The fact that the film was shot in the turbulent atmosphere of the post-August Czechoslovak Republic is just a spicy pepper on top of decently-flavored war goulash. ()

englanti The actual occupation of the only preserved bridge over the Rhine was infinitely simpler and more sober. German soldiers simply escaped. The Remagen Bridge uses this event only to start a powerful story about military honor, courage, and how the powerful sometimes reward it. A decent genre above-average for its time, which is an interesting perspective from the second, enemy side. Overall impression 80%. ()

englanti "Enemy aircraft, sir." - "But who is the enemy?" A war extravaganza with an interesting story, with good guys and bad guys on both sides, and gripping battle scenes. This makes sense, since the Americans were given permission to blast houses in bombed-out Most for their own purposes. The sight of the destruction wreaked by the tanks is perfectly terrifying. George Segal in the lead role is just great (by the way, I've given every one of his films the highest possible rating so far, which is interesting) and his final walk, backed by Bernstein's music, is unforgettable. Robert Vaughn also plays the German major brilliantly... In short, it is a sensational film that rightfully belongs to that golden pool that includes The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Longest Day, A Bridge Too Far, Battle of the Bulge and many others. ()
