This unyielding film chronicles events so atrocious that, over sixty years after their occurrence, many in Japan still cannot bring themselves to admit the horror that their nation unleashed on their Chinese Neighbors. When it comes to the film "Hei tai yang: Nan Jing da tu sha" and all its previous parts, this is actually the best thing that has been shot in the series. There are more period shots here, especially photographs, there is an effort to inform, not just shock. What I like about this film, which is otherwise really only about the massacre and its various forms, is that. However, as a documentary with testimonies from eyewitnesses, it would be much stronger.
