Alex Pareja (Jacob Torres) is a writer who had his greatest success with his first novel, The Heimlich Maneuver, published in 2003. The book was about the death of his girlfriend, who choked on a piece of chicken at a dinner. Since that first novel none of Alex’s books have had the support of the critics or the public. 10 years later, Alex is commissioned to adapt that first novel to a film. (Paycom Multimedia)
