Forest Whitaker delivers another one of his excellent performances, which is undoubtedly the highlight of this film, a remake of an older French piece. It's well set up, but it reaches its conclusion in a way that's too straightforward and too clear-cut. Suddenly, it loses its emotion, and what was set up is just a game, nothing more. In the end, it felt too detached from reality and too focused on the actors.
