What starts out as the last hurrah on the closing night of an infamous small-town strip club, quickly turns into a night of bloodshed when a crew of coal miners shows up and with them a deadly contaminant. Former baseball player and current club owner, Blue Jean Douglas has decided to hand over her bar to a new owner and leave town for good, but her plans are thwarted when she discovers the magnitude of the epidemic that has been unleashed. What I appreciate about the Canadian film Peelers is that it's quite bold in showing nudity, but it's not something on which you can base the success of any horror film. The closed environment suits the film, but there's simply nothing that happens here that is interesting enough to make you sit up straight. You'll enjoy a bit of humor here and there, but there's not enough to keep you entertained.
