We provide confirmation to large corporations like Facebook and Google and by extension to national governments, which can then monitor us in real time. But can we accept potentially being expelled from a country for making a joke on Twitter about terrorism? The film chronologically charts the transformation of US legislation, which goes hand-in-hand with ever-evolving technologies for storing large amounts of data, bringing our lives closer to an Orwellian dystopia.
