A town in Ningxia province, northern China, the present day. Ge is a retired bus driver in his mid-70s whose son by his first marriage doesn't talk to him, and whose second wife, who died six months ago, willed their flat to her own son. Forced to move out, Ge goes to stay with his old friend Zhou, also a retired bus driver, who shares a room with the crazy Jin at Guanshan Old People's Home. Depressed at how his life has ended up, Ge contemplates suicide, but is given hope by the other inmates of the home. Zhou has recruited some of them into performing a comic sketch he hopes to enter into a Japanese TV competition whose China heat is to be held in Tianjin. During rehearsal, one of the group is injured, and the home's head forbids them to go to Tianjin. But Zhou is not dissuaded so easily, and he and Ge, along with four others, hatch a secret plan to "escape". (jakelijan virallinen teksti)

Chinese cinematography isn’t something I get to see every day. But I must say that this movie has really soothed my soul. And I was all the happier when I realized that the director Yang Zhang has already charmed me with some of his movies before. And do you want to know what I definitely didn’t expect? For example, the shots of the beautiful and interesting Chinese landscapes. And also, the amazing acting performances – even those of ordinary people – and the story that I only ran into by chance and by luck. Full Circle is a great movie experience I can only recommend, but I’d make it mandatory for anyone who’s even a tad bit interested in movies. It’s just a shame that those people usually don’t live in the Czech Republic. And when they do, they only live off the mainstream.
