Sébastien Betbeder is an experienced director of short and mid-length films and he utilized his skills in this non-conventional version of otherwise a quite ordinary “history of one love.” The story of the balding, good-natured Arman (Vincent Macaigne), his rather cold girlfriend, Amélie (Maud Wyler), and his best friend, Benjamin (Bastien Bouillon) is split into numerous sub-chapters in which traditional film narration is spiced with the Brechtian-Allenian confessions of the protagonists directly to the camera. The playful directing style fully corresponds with the main characters' view of life – their perception is affected by their knowledge of art and a tendency to apply it to everyday life. (Febiofest)
