Alias Ruby Blade

The life story of Australian journalist Kirsty Sword unfolds against the backdrop of the struggle for the liberation of East Timor. With luck and courage, Kirsty and her team are the first journalists to warn the world of the tyrannical regime of Indonesian dictator Suharto. During the revolutionary years, Kirsty becomes the main informant to the imprisoned leader of the revolutionary groups, the charismatic Kay Rala "Xanana" Gusmão, and thus acquires the code name Ruby Blade. Their mutual correspondence, revolving around a common interest in achieving independence for East Timor, eventually grows more intimate.
