Director Alexandr Rou returned to the proven team that made the successful film Frosty and shot a lively fairy tale with songs, dances, and a lot of crazy characters from classic Russian folk tales. We get to see the immortal Koschei, baba Yaga, the sea tsar, and, of course, Nastenka and the Russian hero. Thanks to the fact that the film doesn't take itself seriously and mocks everything at every step, it is still enjoyable today despite the cheap set design and poor special effects. However, it lacks the cult status of Frosty. Overall impression: 55%. (29.12.2009)
