Yi Ge Gu Pi de ren

In June 2008, Yang Jia armed himself with a knife, a hammer, a dust mask, and pepper spray. He put on a pair of gloves, mixed several Molotov cocktails, and stormed a police station in Zhabei, where he killed six police officers. He was arrested at the scene. Ai Weiwei, the Chinese icon of artistic activism, followed the case for six months. Not in order to determine Yang’s guilt or innocence, but to find out his motive. During the manipulated trial, he slowly uncovers the background of the incident and explores the impact of a government-controlled police and justice system on the lives of ordinary Chinese.
