Raw, dark, gritty, and already in the first episode,some of the characters are very interestingly sketched with unique traits. So far it's less ambitious than Game of Thrones, but it's true that the beginning is actually very similar. Plus for the strong female characters who lose none of their inner fragility and ability to form a household.

Well-crafted introduction to the story and introduction to the characters. I was never bored throughout, something was always happening, and it became clear that Lagertha would likely be the main object of interest for all the present Scandinavians. Well, no wonder, Kathryn Winnick did a good job with her parents.
