The very first scene, loud with gunfire and a crying woman in burqa holding a pistol, foretells that the film will dwell on matters of life and death. Three sentenced women are trying to flee from the country with help of traffickers but things soon get complicated. The claustrophobic picture with the prevalence of close-up shots belongs to the new school of the Iranian cinema, which builds on simple plots with metaphorical aspect. Even in this case, emphasis is put on nihilistic features of film noir, aggression and criticism of Iranian society rather than the story itself. (Febiofest)
