The Forgotten

Men, women and children are chained, most of them in the open air, deprived of food and water, and some of them are regularly abused, others are abandoned in towns by their families, usually when they are kids.
The documentary reveals the unthinkable situation of the vast majority of mentally ill Africans, from severe schizophrenics to mere epileptics. This situation is poorly known even by most Africans, as the affected families hide their relatives because of shame or superstition. The amazing story of a man, an African tire-repairman, Grégoire Ahongbonon, who decided to devote his life to a missio: Rescue, heal and reintegrate into society the forgotten of the forgotten, the African mentally disordered people.
