Road No. 1

I've always avoided war movies and I don't think I've seen even the very basic ones. That's why I myself don't understand how I could get into a war series that lasts a good 20 hours. To say now that I don't regret it would seem pretty weak. Emotionally, it's one of the strongest series of any genre for me. The fact that I cried through the entire finale (and more) is pretty much a given. But for probably the first time, I was so scared while watching that my hands were shaking. Aside from the fact that there's a very beautiful romantic storyline, there's above all the platonic one. The main three actors played it absolutely convincingly, and most of the other actors did too. And a very accomplished soundtrack made the perfect moments even more perfect. I'm open to the war genre now, but I don't think I'll ever prepare myself for the pain I feel when I see it. 5 stars. (05.09.2013)
