A beautiful waif (Paradis) is prepared to leap to her death in the Seine but is rescued from her grim fate by a raffish carnival knife thrower (Auteuil, in a performance that won him a Cesar Award for Best Actor). Lovely, quirky, winsome and erotic, this fairytale vision from director Patrice Leconte (Monsieur Hire) is a romance so captivating, you won't want it to end! (jakelijan virallinen teksti)

englanti Without doubts, the dialogues in Girl on the Bridge are so well-developed that the movie captivates you with the very first words of Vanessa Paradis’s monologue about what has happened. Then boom, cut, and there is an amazing scene on the bridge, describing with every word and every emotion how life will unfold. The great Daniel Auteuil enters the scene and the whole black-and-white story unravels very nicely, but in all respects a bit predictably. That’s my only reservation about this movie. Otherwise I did not expect this movie would make me feel so good. But France was always good in that, especially that of old. ()
