englanti In the confrontation of theater with film, I definitely prefer Menzel's film, even though I do not regret the time spent with the theater recording. The set design is good, and the way the actors managed the problem of the pool environment deserves a thumbs up. Also, the handicapped Jan Potměšil, who unfortunately is not seen in Czech films, deserves recognition, but the songs scattered throughout the performance are sometimes boring and overall, the atmosphere is not as Vančura-like as I would imagine. Essentially, it relies on individual attractions like a magician balancing on a rope, rather than on the performance as a whole. Overall impression: 55%. ()
