What's Your Number?

I was surprised by the number of famous actors in this movie. Considering the reviews on this site, I was disappointed by how unnecessarily vulgar this comedy was at times. Not that I am some posh lady, not at all. But the actors should still say the dumb sexist lines with some grace, so it wouldn’t sound so embarrassing. In this movie it felt really cringy. Do you also have a problem with the fact that you have calculated the number of your sexual partners and it is in the tens, not units? Yes, this assumption is the basis of the fairly simple story of this comedy. Ally, played by the tolerable Anna Faris, found out that she deviates significantly from the alleged average of 10.5 because she has had 19 sexual partners and another one is on the way due to drunkenness. 20 partners should be her maximum, so based on simple logic, she concluded that her husband must be someone from her previous lovers, because she cannot have another one since she would exceed the magical twenty. The story is based on a single article that Ally reads. Promiscuity is not something completely normal, but to make such a big deal out of it... well, for a comedy, it is not a bad foundation at all, but after about a minute, you already know how it will end and what the course of events will be like. Nevertheless, the film could impress with comedic scenes. It doesn't impress. You might laugh a few times, but otherwise, there is too much chatter about nothing. Promiscuity is criticized, but in the end, it doesn't really matter because everyone can find the right one. So is the recipe for a happy life to enjoy oneself? I'm not sure if the comedy was supposed to have a broader message, but I do know that I simply like Chris Evans and that he once again captured attention in this film. It's pretty clear that the target audience for this film is women, but I actually had a good time with it. Sure, it's no masterpiece; it's just another straightforward romantic comedy. However, there's a lot more humor here than heavy-handed romance, so I didn't have the same unpleasant experience as I did yesterday with Take Me Home Tonight. Here, I found the story quite enjoyable, and the main character was likable precisely because she wasn't that dry, uptight type. Even though I didn't feel the urge to laugh until my sides split, I had a smile on my face the whole time. / Lesson learned: 'Good' advice from those around you can turn into quite a nightmare.
