Rome Rather Than You

Taking its title from an Algerian football fan chant in which the “you” designates Algerian society and “Rome” what lies beyond, Tariq Teguia's first feature film takes the form of a “slow-motion road-movie” to recount the wanderings of Zina and Kamel in the outlying district of La Madrague, in search of a “hope merchant” who could help them leave the territory.
