An old, faded photograph can provide many surprises upon closer careful examination and as the camera approaches more and more, it reveals details that tell a dark story of crimes, love, and sacrifice. Interestingly, the importance of film detail is paradoxically confirmed by an animated short film. The film is an impressive realization of a single idea, which it richly manages over 6 minutes. Overall impression: 90%.

Almost unbelievable game with detail and what it actually means to look at a photograph and its individual details. At first glance, it may seem like a capture of a nice moment, but it is precisely those details that give it an entirely different dimension. Here you can see what you can miss when you look at the image not as a whole, but rather as a whole composed of individual parts.

A very original, impressive, and beautifully mysterious six-minute short from Canada, based on one photograph from the late 1930s. The beauty lies in the details, and what they are able decipher from one photo is literally fascinating. 8/10.
