A clichéd story about group a of teenagers without any sense of self-preservation who try to blackmail a serial killer, who, of course, takes brutal revenge. If you add to this a very high number of holes in logic (in what universe can something like this happen?), what you get is a film that doesn’t deserve any attention at all.

Acolytes is a movie that disappoints me a lot because its potential wasn't fully realized. This could have been really depressing; it could have hit the viewer like a proper downer, where you'd feel like everything in the world is wrong. Instead, it's just an ordinary teen horror where the young people behave like jerks, and you don't even wish for them to survive. Good potential, but ultimately a pretty pointless movie.
