Tyypillinen laskettelupäivä muuttuu hyytäväksi painajaiseksi kun kolme lumilautailijaa jää loukkuun hiihtohissiin ennen viimeistä laskua. Kun keskuksen työntekijät sammuttavat yövalot, heille valkenee kiihtyvällä paniikilla että heidät on hylätty kiikkumaan korkeuksiin ilman mitään mahdollisuutta päästä alas. Keskuksen ollessa suljettuna seuraavaan viikonloppuun asti ja paleltumien ja hypotermian jo hiipiessä iholle, kolmikon on ryhdyttävä epätoivoiseen yritykseen päästäkseen vuorelta ennen kuin he jäätyvät kuoliaaksi. Tehtyään siirtonsa, he huomaavat kauhukseen että on paljon pahempiakin syitä pelkoon kuin hyytävä kylmyys. Kysymys kuuluukin päihittääkö selviytymisvietti pahimmat mahdolliset tavat kuolla? An adolescent existential drama that is neither as dumb nor as B-movie-ish as you might expect. Without a sophisticated screenplay and in the space of two square meters, it still manages to impress and engage the viewer, because it is believable, the portrayal of the characters is natural, their behavior is realistic and the suspenseful scenes (one of which is actually quite cruel) are well balanced with the dialogue scenes. I’m giving Frozen four stars for the good feeling I get from supporting a small, unobtrusive film that deserves it.

An intense survival drama. The premise of a trio of skiers trapped in a funicular describes the entire film, leaving hardly any room for storytelling tricks. With less likeable characters, Frozen could easily be very bad, but fortunately, the casting of the main trio is excellent. Their efforts to save themselves do not cause any intellectual outrage (though I’ve actually read the opposite) and the dialogues move between the bearable and the entertaining, I’m satisfied. 7/10

It's about the characters. These guys may be assholes sometimes, but they’re still people. It’s simple and impactful as hell, but unfortunately also quite long considering the subject matter. In the finale, it's a bit "frozen" after all.

Lots of solid characters and an impressive starting point. Well-combined perspective changes. A very nice scene where the characters look away from the brutal scene below them and the camera only captures their faces, with the only clue to what's going on below being the disgusting sound. Someone was thinking here. Towards the end it is a little too long, but in this rank it is a well-built and well-shot intimate film. Yeah... but they could have at least used CGI for the steam from their mouths.

A solid survival drama, skillfully shot in a minimum of space and with a negligible budget. Surprisingly, the psychology of the characters works and their actions are fairly logic and sensible. You're guaranteed to root for them and that's the main thing. Some sequences are truly chilling.
