The story dates back to the post-war period. On the dramatic and quickly changing social background it reveals the lives of its protagonists - former front soldier Griga who fought in the Soviet Army, an officer of the British Air Force Koubek, a careerist Cabadaj, a young journalist Zajaroš and other friends from war and peace times.
