Vaaleanpunainen pantteri 2 on jatkoa vuoden 2006 maailmanlaajuiselle menestyselokuvalle, jonka pääosassa Steve Martin palaa pelottoman joskin toivottoman kömpelön ranskalaisen tarkastaja Jacques Clouseaun rooliin. Kun legendaarisia arvoesineitä alkaa kadota ympäri maailmaa, mm. korvaamattoman kallis Vaaleanpunainen pantteri -timantti, ylikomisario Dreyfus (John Cleese) joutuu lähettämään Clouseaun kansainväliseen tutkimusryhmään, jonka tehtävänä on ottaa varas kiinni ja palauttaa ryövätyt aarteet. Rinnallaan Martinilla on vanhat kumppanit Jean Reno (hänen työtoverinsa Ponton) ja Emily Mortimer (hänen mielitiettynsä Nicole). (Walt Disney Nordic Fin.)

englanti A film that went absolutely nowhere compared to the first part. It's still the same old stuff, the same gags, some of them absolutely identical, which is quite tragic, even though the original Pink Panther did this too. The brilliant unraveling of the case didn't sit well with me again; the cast selection was great, but the potential was definitely underutilized. Yeah, it's actually different; Dreyfus is played by John Cleese. ()

englanti I'm not a fan of the original series, or in fact any of the variations on the theme with any actor. I still haven't actually seen the modern-day first film, but as a standalone affair, I found this film very good. It’s a light comedy, seemingly familiar with every shot, yet also new and charming at the same time. I was curious about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and I was not disappointed because it seems that all of her Anglo-Saxon productions are very interesting and worth seeing. She also stands out in this film as a great counterpart to the sympathetic Emily Mortimer. And if you've seen Dhoom 2, you'll enjoy Aishwarya's variation on the same role. ;) ()

englanti Essentially the same as the number one. It still focuses on ten verbal distortions per minute, excessive clumsiness, and absolute social incompetence, which is why one cannot be mad at Inspector. ()
