The 12th and final season of the US sitcom. The series revolves around two university physicists, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons), their beautiful, free-spirited neighbour, Penny (Kaley Cuoco), and their friends, Howard (Simon Helberg) and Rajesh (Kunal Nayyar). In this season, Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) enjoy their honeymoon before making an important breakthrough in their research on super asymmetry, Leonard and Penny consider starting a family and Raj contemplates agreeing to an arranged marriage. I cannot believe that it has been so many years since Hollywood was experiencing a financial crisis and so after a few episodes, they had to cut The Big Bang Theory, which already had a huge potential, only for it to be renewed and now they finished with 12 seasons, which had, obviously, some good but also some worse episodes. Nevertheless, the twelfth season had more than decent quality. There was always something happening, the characters were still crazy and even the new ones were very nice. The creators were particularly successful with the ending. Hats off. So once again, after Friends, I have something to remember with sad nostalgia.

The beginning of the final 12th Season was very weak, with all the negative stereotypes of married life. Pop culture reminiscing was sparse and references to the Young Sheldon spin-off came to the fore. The return celebrated the classic "Sheldon longs for a Nobel Prize" storyline, and thanks to Raj, the sitcom sought to explore the complex topic of arranged marriage. Well, the memory of more successful years is certainly bitter. At the end of the series, we were served such treats as Alcide Herveaux or Ellen, and several situations were reminiscent of earlier episodes, and the plots were often several episodes long. But the lost years could not be brought back. However, TBBT became a phenomenon anyway, and perhaps thanks to this series it is possible to go to Comics Point in the Czech Republic without having to go through the sewers.

Just like the past few seasons, this one wasn't anything special either. The final season was a similar disappointment to the previous one. The creators focused mainly on relationship issues again, while the original idea that got me to watch the show in the first place went completely by the wayside. Considering how much I once enjoyed the series, I’m sorry to say that I'm glad it's over. I really wouldn't want to watch another tortured season that would only make me sad. / Lesson learned: Everyone should know when to stop.
