Hodina klavíru

Probably an attempt to turn back the clock to the times of the excellent Ikaros' Fall, Tažní ptáci and Dobří holubi se vracejí... unfortunately quite an unsuccessful attempt, mainly due to a really predictable and tendentious script that absolutely lacks strong conflicts and believable characters. The two main stars act the way they're used to acting, Liška as an idiot with a golden heart and Polívka a grumpy man who is good on the inside. Some of the statements are so shallow that they inadvertently made me laugh, and the cathartic moments of the story were flat and untrustworthy. There was a complete lack of the energy and tragedy of the old "detoxification" hits with Menšík et al., the impression of authenticity and immediacy... moreover, I was not at all interested in the nice and humorous moments. The gray directing by Zdeněk Zelenka definitely does not add to its beauty. (23.09.2007)
