Spring Fever, the bloodcurdling sequel to the hit horror film. Days after a killer virus consumed his friends, Paul emerges from a ditch by a river. Though his body has been ravaged by the virus, he is determined to survive and to warn others of the danger. However, a water bottling plant has already distributed contaminated water to the local high school. I enjoyed Spring Fever more than Roth’s first part. Starting from the animated opening credits (which could have replaced the introduction but didn’t) until the end, the film alternates comedy with atmospheric, brutal, and disgusting scenes, with everything working out passably well (unlike Roth’s) and, what is more, the resulting mix holds together (unlike Roth’s). Even though West didn’t have creative freedom as director (in fact, he wanted to distance himself from the film), he did a pretty good job. Just like The House of the Devil felt like occult horror from the 1970s, the sequel to Cabin Fever feels like a (funny) American B-movie from the 1980s, though it’s not as precise and perfect as the former.

This ending is a terrible letdown because you will feel like you have been cheated. This is just a game for the viewer, who is supposed to be disgusted, perhaps have a little fun here and there, but in the end, they will realize that the movie actually brings them nothing. Until then, however, "Cabin Fever 2" is a fairly tolerable film, which may be a bit silly, simple, predictable, but it doesn't lack entertainment at times. It's just a semi-finished product.
