Nuorten rakastavaisten kevätajelu muuttuu kammottavaksi painajaiseksi, kun he poimivat kyytiinsä salaperäisen liftarin John Ryderin (Sean Bean). Grace (Sophia Bush) ja Jim (Zachary Knighton) onnistuvat pakenemaan liftarilta, joka ryhtyy vainomaan nuoria. Solid thriller, sufficiently dynamic, bloody, and relentless to captivate for about 90 minutes, with well-staged car accidents and a superb Sean Bean, he plays the killer role perfectly. The duo of teenagers doesn't offer anything innovative, but surprisingly, it's not too disruptive either. As a one-off, it's quite satisfying. If it weren't for the strong original, it could have been above average. I quite enjoyed it and didn't expect much, the atmosphere works, and technically, the film is on an excellent level.

Another entirely unnecessary remake. It goes by pretty quickly, but the lack of thrilling moments and logical character behaviour makes The Hitcher a mediocre film at best – and that's only in the stronger moments.
