The film is about the last day the Old Woman and the Old Man spend together. As usual, they go out to have dinner in the nearby restaurant. Meanwhile we get acquainted with the keeper of the restaurant and his casual sweetheart who earns the living for her blind baby by joining men. A man who has been passing his life abroad calls the phone directory inquiries from the restaurant to find out about an Éva Kiss, who he had left 17 years ago. In the directory office it is Éva Kiss who answers the phone. She recognises the man's voice but does not tell her son at home that his father is looking for them. The Old Man chokes during the walk after lunch and dies. At night find an abandoned baby is found in the street by young people who take it in to the Old Woman until the ambulance arrives.
