Futurama: Bender's Big Score

Find out KFC’s secret recipe... And at the same time you can enjoy yourself with the reborn Futurama. If you are afraid that for the time when the show has been canceled, the creators have gone soft, then already the prolog targeted at Fox puts you straight on that. The new Futurama is like the later seasons of the old one. In other words, outstanding, but not at the peak of its strength. It’s partly due to the concept and partly to the heavily present syndrome of “we have to show all the favorite characters". As we know, this will be aired as a separate season, like the other three pictures, so to a certain extent you can tell where it will be divided into episodes. And the reason is simple; this has a plot and not just an excuse for one. In other words, a cheap barrage of recycled jokes. Most of the time. The creators worked well with the time paradoxes, which are relevant the plot; they are logical and serve a purpose. So the (old) New Futurama wasn’t disappointing, in fact was entertaining and set a quality standard for the remaining three movies sufficiently high, but also not impossible to surpass. The more serious than usual plot works almost surprisingly well here. And Professor Farnsworth will tell you the final verdict right at the beginning: "Good news, everyone!" (24.11.2007)

Um. So far I haven’t seen a single episode of the series, so you must be saying to yourselves that I must have been completely crazy when I decided to ignore four or five years of this series. In any case I intend to catch up. Someday. And now about the movie itself. Jumping around in time is one of my favorite disciplines in sci-fi and so I must say that I was very pleased with the plot and, apart from a couple of minor details, I have no criticisms. Oh and by the way, Bender roolzz. Bender's iconic scene #1: Bender puts on sunglasses and loads a futuristic shotgun. (05.01.2008)

Bender as a thief of the world's most valuable treasures or a "terminator" was perfect, I liked the great time travel and of course the usual Futurama jokes (the Jewish TIE fighter), but I could have done without certain episodes (especially Santa). I enjoyed Bender's Big Score, but Futurama is still better as a series. (23.03.2011)

This is called proper time play. Matt Groening and the whole crew around "Futurama" have made the first feature film, which has everything a story with Fry and others should have. It's not explosively funny, but as a parody of sci-fi, it works perfectly. I had a great time, maybe even more after watching it for the second time. (21.05.2014)
