englanti Karel Lamač, this Czech Valdemar Psilander, was on the rise in the early 1920s. Apart from the small Czech environment, a foreign country opened up for him. In the end, however, it turned out that he would keep acting domestically and conquer foreign countries as a director and producer. In Young Medardus, this famous Napoleonic film by the Hungarian directorial prodigy who had just completed the grand spectacle Queen of Sin and the Spectacle of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lamač appears only at the beginning of the complex plot in a dramatic lover's role alongside Anny Hornik. The two lovers decide to do the worst on the banks of the Danube... It was a nice gesture from Lamač to go down in history like that. The rest of the film continues during Napoleon's campaign through Vienna in 1809. ()
