A family comedy full of good intentions: Lubos spends the most of the year in the Alps working on a rescue team. He has finally arrived home and his wife Anna is looking forward to spending a whole month with him. But their 7-year-old daughter Amalka refuses to go on a school trip in order to enjoy time with her daddy. Lubos goes to school to excuse his daughter’s absence, but ends up going to the High Tatras with Amalka and her class as a medical technician. He promises Anna to be back in a few days. However, a chain of events and unexpected comic misunderstandings stymie his return. Amalka and her friend Koudelka contribute to this situation, and so does the peculiar grandpa Pepik, their son Vasek, and an attractive teacher, Alice. Anna waits for Lubos in vain and things are heading for an open quarrel. In the end, everything turns out for the best and Lubos has a great surprise for the whole family... I don’t like films with NON-actors. I don’t like films with a lot of whiny and unlikeable kids. I don’t like boring films. I don’t like this film!

Since I have convinced myself that the Crocodile sequel has a beneficial effect exactly where it should, I’m giving it a rather high rating. In this environment, however, there is no point in discussing where a mistake was made, if any. ;)

In the case of Marie Poledňáková, the plundering of her own archive is almost reprehensible, but I will still give the film two stars. Although the cast doesn't measure up to the original and the humor seems to have taken a vacation just to be safe. If the entertainment was supposed to be provided by the duo of Dan Nekonečný and Pepa Vojtek, it didn't exactly work. At least Václav Postránecký and the listenable music save the day. However, I suppose the child audience, for whom this film is primarily intended, might like it. (40%)
