“Once upon a very very long time ago..." There well may be tons of better children’s bedtime tales. But this has something about it that the others are sorely missing. The most likeable person that ever made it onto the TV screen - Little Man, a sort of prehistoric Czechoslovak version of MacGyver. And the voiceover is excellent, entertaining for kids and adults alike, it’s pleasantly (but not blindly) naive and every episode has an unforced lesson at the end. Simply perfect kids’ bedtime viewing; too bad that this masterpiece is so little known. (26.06.2007)
