A brilliant geneticist, Diane Ladd, plans to expose a lethal virus to every human being on the planet. Her objective: to destroy humankind in favor of her new strain of prehistoric dinosaurs. Two people stand in the way of her diabolical plan, a cynical night watchman and a lovely idealistic environmentalist. The two must overcome their differences long enough to uncover the scientist's scheme and fight her carnivorous creations in a desperate battle against the extinction of the human race. Producer Roger Corman wanted to challenge Jurassic Park in 1993 and so the Carnosaur was born. However, it is not really a challenge when the movie is an incredibly horrific failed attempt at making a horror movie with dinosaurs. The movie works so-so in the scenes where the reptilian creature is attacking someone, but the rest of the movie is an overly wordy snoozefest filled with terrible acting and tragically uninteresting dialogues from the characters. Diane Ladd suffers most with having the worst written character of them all. The plot does not move and the way the protagonist goes about his business is perhaps the laziest donkey bridge I have seen over the last several months. Adam Simon simply sucks balls as both the director as well as the screenwriter. However, the most upsetting part of all of this is that John Brosnan apparently had decent source material that could have given birth to a more entertaining B-movie. Carnosaur sadly provides not much of entertainment value whatsoever.
