englanti I haven’t seen Casablanca yet, but I understood that Woody Allen only took the best from it. This film is a classic Allen standard, which already at the beginning of his career mastered dialogues and did what it wanted with the viewer. I can’t give five stars to this film for the fact that although the ending was really beautiful, it didn’t tell me much, because I haven’t seen Casablanca, so if you really want to enjoy the film, then you should watch Casablanca first. Oh, and let’s not forget, Diane Keaton was really great here. I wonder about Woody’s secret for always having such beautiful women hanging around him. ()

englanti Not everyone can forget in the style of Bogart. And that's why we sometimes need friends. But what if, thanks to a friend, we become a partial Bogart ourselves? Woody's first screenplay, which could be described as a typical Allen film, came at a time when he was still making unfiltered comedies and satires, and Annie Hall was still five years away. That's why he left the directorial side of things to Herbert Ross and focused more on romance combined with perfect situational humor and a flood of visual and conversational gags. Woody is closer to me here than ever before, thanks to the final scene. Who hasn't wished to recite the most famous lines from Casablanca and mean them seriously... ()

englanti Woody wasn't behind the camera this time but the film can be instantly classified as one of Allen's early productions when he built on his acting creations in stand-up shows. It is lively, expressive acting that doesn't even remotely resemble his famous intellectual conversations. On the other hand, his character Allen already has the characteristic of a quirky, uncertain neurotic, which Woody later perfected. It can be said that Woody tried out the position here that became famous for Pierre Richard, a likable troublemaker who fights for the affection of the opposite sex. However, while both comedic and romantic roles suited Richard, for Woody Allen only the comedic one works. Simply put, the role of a seducer who gets Diane Keaton into bed is not believable, no matter how hard you try. Unless he first pours a bottle of alcohol or a powerful drug into it. I can't say that I didn't enjoy it, but I also can't claim that I had a lot of fun with it. It's just enough for 3 stars. Woody developed the same idea much more successfully in The Purple Rose of Cairo, which I also rated higher. Overall impression: 60%. ()

englanti "Everyone is Bogart sometimes." One of those films that is funny and touching at the same time, dreamy and at the same time so true... Just beautiful. Woody Allen does several scenes as if cut from a grotesque, and since it's summer and his therapist has gone somewhere where he can't be tracked down, he starts taking self-confidence lessons from Humphrey Bogart himself and is enchanted by Diane Keaton. Of course, the finale can't take place anywhere but on a foggy runway. ()
