Native Americans aren’t a culture that I am particularly interested in. But when I come across a movie about them, I like to watch it. But what’s interesting is that those movies usually end up quite average. They’re usually neither surprising nor satisfying. They simply show you what pretty much every movie about Native Americans does. A nation oppressed by the white majority that drowns its sorrow in booze, like an animal in a cage.
