An infamous painter looking for inspiration visits the place of his childhood. In the years that have passed, the beautiful river where he used to play has been turned into a sewer. They say that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. That comes easy as the painter finds a mermaid in the depths of the sewer. He remembers that she visited him when he was a kid and has since haunted his mind. He realizes that the mermaid has a disease, and brings her to his home to care for her. The film has an idea that I would actually like, but it's all just too much for the effect... On the other hand, it must be said that the film managed to have quite a strong punchline, which disgusts even more through understanding than what we saw the whole time. "Ginî piggu: Manhôru no naka no ningyo" will definitely stay in your memory, which is something that some more normal movies fail to do. The effects, which are incredible, definitely need to be emphasized. In the series, it is definitely above average and ultimately in the genre as well.
