englanti The script for The Uninvited Guest was created before the August invasion of Czechoslovakia, but if the film had the opportunity to be distributed, practically no one would doubt that it is an immediate and very accurate reaction to the "fraternal assistance" of the Warsaw Pact troops. Regardless of the fact that Venclík himself denies the connection between the events in August and the film, it perfectly hits the doctrine of limited sovereignty and the negative impact of Soviet troops in Central Europe after the end of World War II. After all, Hungary and Poland were already there before. I find the film to be well-thought-out, clever, and funny, and a very accurate allegory of the power relations of that time. I could point out its flaws, but this was made as a student film, and considering that, I consider it a five-star affair. Just think about how many memorable student works you can recall. Overall impression: 90%. ()
