All Beginnings Are Hard

The film is a cabaret style, satirical montage of the political events and everydays of the twenty years following the Russian liberation of Hungary. In the perspective of contemporary newsreels, Hacsek and Sajó cabaret dialogues, cartoon excerpts, interviews, and puppet shows, the film conjures up "the feather-weight wrestling for life and death of reaction and progression" in the society.
