When Tom Winston's (Cary Grant) estranged wife dies in a sudden accident, he's left alone to raise their three children. Problem is, Elizabeth, David and Robert Winston haven't seen hide nor hair of their father in ages, and they aren't about to let him play the perfect parent now. Tom has to win his bratty brood's respect first. Along comes Cinzia Zaccardi (Sophia Loren), a lovely long-legged lady who's willing to do anything to escape her strict father. So, she poses as a maid and goes to work for Tom as a live-in nanny. Before they know it, Tom, Cinzia and the kids will be living as one big, crazy family. (jakelijan virallinen teksti)

englanti Sophia and Cary make a very special couple. Yet overall, the early years in Loren's career are just full of movies that I don't get. She came out of nowhere, she had no roots, no education, and no acting skills, but she looked different and applied herself so well at a time when a new type of film heroine was being sought. She became part of the current of different faces such as Audrey Hepburn and helped to establish a completely different perception of beauty in cinema. This wouldn't have been such a problem if this wave had passed as quickly as any other fashion trend, but history would have it that this post-war generation has remained at its imaginary peak to this day. Which I hate as much as anything. ()
