The Embalmer

The poor, old, short, not too pretty and lonely man starring in The Embalmer see, in his new and young protegé, the chance to get the affection he tries to get by spending money, hiring prostitutes whenever he can, but also to find an image of himself which never really existed. The beauty, the lost youth and, above all, a future ahead to achieve everything he has been denied. Those are the qualities he finds irresistible. His obsession to keep him by his side to live through him is that of someone who sees a virtual reflection of everything he was not, of someone who doesn't understand the selfless and free nature of true love and tries to manipulate others as if they were his own stuffed animals. A single way road that leads to a tragedy as shocking as unavoidable. (Gijón International Film Festival)
