The last century was a golden age in Swedish urban planning. Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm became a model all over the world for how to design an attractive and environmentally friendly urban environment. The architect Jan Inghe was at the forefront of the new planning. An Other city describes his work and assesses how our cities have developed since then. We follow his career, which begins with the development of the Minneberg district in Stockholm in the 1970s, then Södra Station in the 80s, and which culminated with Hammarby Sjöstad in the 90s. The film is a good, captivating and educational experience about what spaces do in the planning, the degree of publicity, what is achieved with previous construction, and exploration of several Scandinavian cities.
