A dog pooped on the subway. But the video has gone viral and all hell is breaking loose for the poor quadruped’s owner. A searing satire on the power of social media, it deals with public shaming and the fact that a slice of reality is never the whole of reality. Inspired by a true event in South Korea, the film marks the feature directorial debut of actor Andrei Huțuleac. (Days of European Film)

A good idea for a satire about the absurdity and hatred in contemporary society, which to a great extent is fed by social media. The potential of the film’s well-directed, darkly humorous tone is not exploited in all scenes (some miss the mark), but for a debut, #dogpoopgirl is a noteworthy curiosity.
