Adopted by an African American family in South Central L.A., Derrick (Mullany) grows up an Irish white boy who thinks he's black! When his mother (Devine) catches him romantically entangled with a woman on her couch, he's thrown out with an ultimatum--he must prove he can do something right. The task is simple, bring home a carton of milk by supper time. He meets up with his buddy Chris (Payne) and the pair turn this simple chore into a days worth of bizarre adventures. They catch trouble with everyone in their path including a dangerous drug lord, a 300-pound ex-girlfriend, a neighborhood pimp, and a couple of redneck cops.
