Stephen Trask previously collaborated with Paul Weitz as composer of the scores for the director's In Good Company, American Dreamz, The Vampire's Assistant, and Little Fockers.
Mr. Trask composes scores for both independent and studio features. These have included Tom McCarthy's award-winning The Station Agent, starring Peter Dinklage; Todd Graff's Camp, the breakthrough feature for actress Anna Kendrick; Richard Ledes' A Hole in One, starring Michelle Williams; Bill Condon's Dreamgirls, which won two Academy Awards; Robert Benton's Feast of Love; Tamara Jenkins' The Savages, starring Academy Award nominee Laura Linney; and Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's Lovelace.
He first achieved notice as the co-creator/composer/lyricist of the celebrated stage musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, collaborating with John Cameron Mitchell, who starred in the title role, and director Peter Askin. His work on the original off-Broadway show brought him an Obie Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, a New York Magazine Award, multiple Drama Desk Award nominations, a Grammy Award nomination, and two GLAMA Awards. His work on the subsequent feature film version, which Mr. Mitchell directed, brought Mr. Trask Entertainment Weekly's Best Soundtrack citation.
