Brian Welsh began his film career as an editor in documentaries, before attending the National Film School's editing course. On graduating he was commissioned by Curzon Artificial Eye to make the microbudget feature film, In Our Name, which he wrote, directed and edited to widespread acclaim. Brian then directed several high-end TV dramas, winning multiple awards, including an Emmy for Black Mirror: An Entire History of You. Beats, his second feature film, premiered in Rotterdam.
