Claudia von Alemann

A German documentary filmmaker whose films focus on strong female figures and female emancipation in general, Claudia von Alemann has over the course of her career been a central figure of several festivals (for example the Berlin-based First International Women’s Film Festival in 1973) as well as writing about cinema (Frauen und Film, Die Frau mit der Kamera) and lecturing at a number of universities around the world (Cambridge, Montreal, Hanoi).
