Biografia

Anne Haugsgjerd graduated as a graphic designer at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She has worked with film since 1980, first as an editing assistant. She then went on to directing her own films - often humorous and reflective, biographical and self-exposing.

Her films were a mixture of fiction and documentary, highly unusual in the 1980's when she made her first film, Life in Frogner. Her filmmaking was inspired by Swedish filmmaker Eric M. Nilsson, who also edited Life in Frogner. The film went on screens at several festivals, got an Audience Award and was nominated for the National Film Award Amanda. In the 1990s when the digital film cameras were launched, she started filming herself.
