Guillermo Vejar obtained a degree in Design and Production Advertising from the UPAEP in 2007 and earned a specialty in Playwriting with a focus in Film Direction in 2011 from the ‘Akademija Scenskih Umjetnosti u Sarajevu’ of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he also worked at the International Film Festival of Sarajevo. In 2010, his script, La Puerta Verde was selected for the Cannes Film Festival, and in 2011, he completed his first project as a director with his documentary, Escarabajo, which was selected for screening at more than 23 international film festivals. During 2012 and 2013, he worked as a programmer at several film festivals, such as the Puebla International Film Festival and the Arizona Film Festival. In 2014, he founded the production company, Gatuno Films, and began working on a feature fiction project, Bailarín.
