Biografia

Bente Erichsen started out as a journalist in the early seventies, but moved into film production through the company Marcusfilm AS towards the end of the decade. She made her directorial debut with the crime-drama Over grensen in 1987, followed by the family musical People and Robbers of Cardamom Town in 1988. Although having directed features herself, Erichsens main efforts in filmmaking have been as a producer.

Besides her work in film production Erichsen's also had en extensive career in other areas of cultural and social administration. She was the cultural director for the Lillehammer Olympic Organization Committee from 1991 to 1993, artistic director for Hedmark Theater from 1994 to 1997 and managing director of the national touring theater Riksteatret from 1997 to 2005. Since 2005 she has worked as the managing director of the Nobel Peace Center. Erichsen has also served as member of the board for institutions such as the Norwegian Broadcasting Company NRK, the Norwegian Film Institute, The Norwegian Film and TV Producers Association and Telemark University College.
